Press Brake Installation

Challenge:
Find new bending capacity to help form the over 8000 different brackets found on their popular RJ-series aircraft.

Approach:
To purchase a press brake that could form these parts quickly and accurately to meet with critical delivery and quality demands associated with aerospace production.

Solution:
Bombardier selected Paramount Machinery Inc. to deliver and install the all electric AVP-206 machine from Aizawa with 22-ton X 24” capacity. Speedy and compact, the AVP was perfectly suited to the part sizes and limited floor space available to the department. Two specially modified machines were ordered with an option for two more. The Aizawa factory worked closely with Paramount Machinery Inc. to ensure compliance with Bombardier requirements and both machines were delivered on time. Furthermore, Aizawa sent two engineers for the installation to ensure all went smoothly.

Productivity in the forming department increased dramatically. So much so that the customer realized two machines would be sufficient for all their production.

Bombardier has subsequently ordered a 110-ton Aizawa hydraulic press brake to form their larger parts.
